The Mountain Art Guild is a non-profit organization of artists, primarily from the Santa Cruz Mountains. The purpose of the Guild is to cultivate friendly cooperation among mountain artists, promote, exchange and sell art, and provide members and aspiring artists with educational opportunities that develop their artistic abilities.

The guild presents a two-day show each year, participates in the Christmas Craft Faire at the Loma Prieta Community Center, and supports art throughout the community.

The Mountain Art Guild began with conversations in early 1996 among a small group of artists that included Lorri Scott, Irene Seales and Chris Self. They contacted other artists and craftspeople in the mountains, and found substantial interest. Although the first meetings rotated among members’ homes, increasing attendance necessitated a move to the Loma Prieta Community Center. The guild now meets at the Radonich Packing House on Highland Way.

The Guild sponsored its first show in June 1997 at the beautiful Maison du Lac. Its huge success led to an annual event, with each show growing in size, sales and stature.

In 1999, the Guild was granted the status of a non-profit corporation by the State of California. This has enabled the expansion of programs to aid art education and appreciation for children and adults.

On the third Wednesday of each month, except December and July, the Guild meets at Radonich Ranch. The business meeting is typically followed by a presentation by a member, guest artist or art personality. Parties replace meetings in the other two months
